How to install Brother MFC 7420 Printer on Ubuntu

The correct driver is not by default in Ubuntu, so the only simple thing to do is to get it:

sudo apt-get install brother-cups-wrapper-laser

This works with Hardy Heron, Intrepid Ibex and Jaunty Jackalope.

Bye

This works like a charm. But be advised…

    1) Do the command
    2) then unplug the usb cable and plug it in again to auto detect
    3) In the list there will be a driver with the mfc7420 in it, us THAT one.
    4) print a test print or use another doc.

    Works great, thanks!

Got the mfc-7420 printer working under 11.04. Wish I could say the same about the scanner. Any thoughts?
